My name is Mika.

I started collecting vegetarian and vegan recipes more than a decade ago when it became my style of eating.

Although I like to try the most diverse world cuisines and tastes, I have always gravitated towards the familiar taste of the food I grew up on. Since I lived most of my life in the Balkans, where the cuisine is based on meat and milk, it was a challenge to convert traditional recipes into their vegan versions. But once they are created the recipes are super easy and fast to cook. The ingredients are simple and can be found in every kitchen. They create comfort food that transports you to a different, and for many unfamiliar, part of the world. To the beautiful Balkan region.

Balkan cuisine is a combination of European and Western Asian cuisine, with some influence from Greece, Turkey, Hungary, Germany and Italy.

I am not a professional cook, but if I love something I will make it perfect. And this is the kind of food that I am familiar with, grew up on, and perfected over the years.

Disclaimer: I know that every country, region or even family has slightly different versions of the same dish, this is just how my mother and grandmother, and I prepared them.
